Workforce Issues

A booming economy, diminishing labor force and historically low unemployment levels have pushed workforce issues as the top concern for many Wisconsin employers.

For years, the economic focus in Wisconsin was on jobs, jobs, jobs.  Now that we’ve created all of these jobs, employers are scrambling to fill them.  On top of that, many of the workers don’t have the skills for these jobs.

Wisconsin Small Businesses United supports efforts to create a new and diversified workforce.  In addition to focusing on training and advancing our future and underemployed workforce, WSBU believes that we need to remove obstacles to employment.

Employment barriers come in many forms, some easier to address than others, such as training or transportation issues.  Others require legislative action and/or additional funding such as judicial reforms and mental health issues.

WSBU encourages the Wisconsin Legislature to think outside the box and work to tear down employment barriers.
